Ailujon Films is a documentary film company founded by Julia Wrona. Ailujon Films offers full package film and video production, post production consulting, film and video editing and photography services.

BIOGRAPHY

Julia Wrona is a filmmaker dedicated to illuminating truth, beauty and untold stories to inspire the world.

Julia is currently directing and producing her first feature documentary THE LONG BIKE BACK about a young man’s resilient spirit as he recovers from a crippling hit-and-run bicycle accident and embarks on a cross-country bike trip to encourage road sharing and safety. Julia is also associate producing a new documentary for Out of The Blue Films about the causes and consequences of envy.

For the past six years Julia has associate produced, assistant edited and post production supervised a wide range of documentary projects. These films include the multi award-winning BODY & SOUL: DIANA & KATHY about two women with disabilities determined to live independently, the acclaimed ROAD TO INGWAVUMA which documents a celebrity delegation’s journey to post-apartheid South Africa and the short film GIRLS OF DARAJA about the only free girls school in East Africa. In addition, Julia was the assistant editor on the recently released film WHIZ KIDS which follows three high school students doing remarkable science research. Julia was also the assistant editor and photo archivist on the PBS American Experience film about Annie Oakley.

Julia began her career working with Maysles Films on a variety of documentary projects, most notably as a production coordinator on Albert Maysles’s Peabody Award winning documentary THE GATES about world-renowned artists Christo & Jeanne Claude’s Gates Project in Central Park.

Julia also worked as an editor on a variety of DVD projects including the EVOLVE series with John Edward.

Julia graduated with honors from the selective Film Conservatory at Purchase College in New York. While a student at Purchase she created four short films including a documentary about the murder of a doctor in Buffalo entitled PROPAGANDA. PROPAGANDA premiered in 2004 at the Rome International Film Festival in Rome, Georgia where Julia was nominated as ‘Most Promising New Filmmaker’.
